WE ARE LIVING IN THE HOTTEST ERA IN 125,000 YEARS.
The world today is hotter than at any point in the history of human civilization. Since the last Ice Age, since the dawn of agriculture, since the first cities - temperatures have never been this high. Every year since 2015 ranks among the hottest ever recorded. According to paleoclimate data, it was last this warm over 125,000 years ago - when sea levels were 6 to 9 meters higher than today. The difference? Back then, it was natural. Now, it's human-made - accelerated in less than two centuries, at a speed unmatched in Earth's history. What once took tens of thousands of years now takes decades. And it’s not slowing down. Month after month. Year after year. We are no longer witnessing change. We are inside a global experiment with no precedent and no way out.
AT 1.5 DEGREES, THE PLANET TIPS -IRREVERSIBLY.
Scientific models are unambiguous: if we exceed 1.5 degrees of warming, we lose control over the planet’s core systems. The melting of the Greenland ice sheet, the collapse of West Antarctica, the destruction of the Amazon rainforest, the thawing of permafrost, the breakdown of the Atlantic ocean current - all of these tipping points lie between 1.5 and 2 degrees. If one falls, the rest can follow. The consequences: unstoppable sea level rise, global droughts, mass displacement, the collapse of entire ecosystems. These are not temporary shifts. They cannot be reversed. There is no switch to turn them off. No reset. No way back. Once triggered, these processes will unfold over centuries - while we watch, powerless. And they have already begun.
IN 10 YEARS, THE CLIMATE SYSTEM
WILL BE BEYOND SAVING.
The remaining CO₂ budget to stay below 1.5 degrees is around 500 billion tons. Humanity currently emits about 40 billion tons each year. That gives us, at most, a decade before we blow past the point of no return. After that, 1.5 degrees becomes unattainable - even with an immediate global shutdown of emissions. What follows is not a slow change - it’s a planetary unraveling: extreme weather feeding on itself, social systems under strain, economic regions collapsing. We know it. We see it. The data is clear. And yet, we do almost nothing. The clock is not ticking anymore - it’s pounding.
Every ton of CO₂ brings us closer to irreversible damage. Every delay seals the collapse more deeply into the future.
THE EARTH HAS A FEVER –
AND WE IGNORE ALL ALARMS.
Earth is now a patient in critical condition. Global average temperatures keep rising, and every early warning system is flashing red. Since the start of industrialization, atmospheric CO₂ has climbed from 280 to over 420 ppm -a level not seen in two million years. The climate responds with mounting instability: more heatwaves, more droughts, more extreme rainfall. But instead of addressing the cause, we focus on symptoms and distractions. The intensive care unit is already full, the monitors are screaming - but no one pulls the plug. We are witnessing a planetary breakdown in slow motion, and still pretending it can be managed with slogans. We see the symptoms - yet act as if we have all the time in the world. The fever rises, and we keep dancing.
THE ARCTIC COULD BE
ICE-FREE THIS DECADE.
The Arctic is warming two to three times faster than the global average. Since 1979, it has lost around 75% of its summer sea ice. Within this decade, we may see the first ice-free Arctic summer - triggering catastrophic feedback loops. Without ice, sunlight is no longer reflected, but absorbed by the dark ocean surface. That accelerates global heating and destabilizes weather systems worldwide. The Arctic acts as a thermostat for the planet - once broken, the system spirals. And instead of treating this as a planetary emergency, governments plan shipping routes, oil drilling, and military expansion. The Arctic is dying - and we’re calculating profit margins. The tipping point is not coming. It’s here.
GLACIERS ARE MELTING –
SEA LEVELS ARE RISING.
Glaciers are retreating at record speed across the planet. In recent decades alone, they’ve lost over 330 billion tons of ice per year. From the Alps to the Andes to the Himalayas - our major freshwater reserves are vanishing. Meanwhile, sea levels continue to rise. If emissions stay high, oceans could climb by at least one meter by 2100 - enough to flood entire cities. This is not a hypothetical threat, it’s a scheduled reality. The window to act is closing fast, yet governments behave as if it’s someone else’s problem. No city, no economy, no infrastructure built in the last century is prepared for what’s coming. The coasts will fall - first in the poorest regions. And we know it. Not later. Now.
GREENLAND IS MELTING –
7 METERS OF SEA LEVEL RISE.
The Greenland ice sheet is losing over 240 billion tons of ice every year - and the rate is accelerating. Studies show that with global warming of just 1.5 to 2 degrees Celsius, its complete collapse becomes inevitable. Once triggered, this process unfolds over centuries and adds up to seven meters of global sea level rise. That would erase today’s coastlines: New York, London, Hamburg, Shanghai - gone, submerged, lost. There is no technological fix, no carbon capture system that can stop it. And yet emissions continue to rise as if nothing is connected. The ice sheet is no longer stable - it is weakening, and it is falling. Greenland is dying, and with it everything we still consider safe is being swept into the sea. And while we measure the loss in graphs and gigatons, we ignore that we are watching our own foundations dissolve.
PERMAFROST IS RELEASING METHANE – THE CLIMATE BOMB IS ARMED.
Across Siberia, Alaska, and Northern Canada, some 1,700 billion tons of carbon are frozen in the soil - twice the amount currently in the atmosphere. As temperatures rise, permafrost thaws and releases carbon dioxide and methane - methane being over 80 times more potent than CO₂ over two decades. This is not a future scenario - it is happening now, with massive emissions documented in real time. Explosions, flames, and sinkholes mark the beginning of this release. What escapes now cannot be stopped, reversed, or contained. It marks the start of a runaway feedback loop, driven by ancient ice, ancient gases, and modern ignorance. The ground beneath our feet is burning, and we are still feeding the fire. And the longer we deny it, the harder and faster this feedback will spiral out of control.
THE GULF STREAM IS COLLAPSING –
AND EUROPE WILL FOLLOW.
The Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation - our planet’s heat distribution system - is now weaker than it has been for at least a thousand years. This current balances global climate: keeping Western Europe mild, the tropics wet, and the North frozen. If it breaks down, temperature distribution collapses. Europe cools drastically, West Africa dries out, the Amazon degrades faster, and sea levels rise steeply along the U.S. East Coast. Models suggest the tipping point could lie between 1.5 and 2 degrees of warming—meaning collapse could begin within decades. Once it starts, the system does not recover - it dies. And when it does, the climate order of the Northern Hemisphere unravels. Europe is heading for a breakdown - climatic, political, and economic—and the thermometer says: now. No democracy, no infrastructure, no economy is ready for the violence this shift will unleash.
$700 BILLION FOR FOSSIL FUELS –
A STATE SPONSORED COLLAPSE.
Governments around the world continue to spend over $700 billion annually to subsidize fossil fuels - coal, oil, and gas. This means public money is directly accelerating the destruction of the climate. While climate disasters cause hundreds of billions in damage, their root causes remain financially protected and politically reinforced. These subsidies keep fossil energy artificially cheap, profitable, and entrenched - despite the existence of viable alternatives. They block every real incentive for transformation and make destruction economically rational. This is slow-motion global suicide- fully documented, legally signed, and paid for with tax money. Any state still subsidizing fossil fuels today is actively choosing collapse as a political strategy. And every dollar spent in that direction deepens the crisis future generations will have no tools to reverse.
THE RICHEST 10%
CAUSE 50% OF GLOBAL EMISSIONS.
The climate crisis is not only an ecological emergency - it is a deep injustice. The wealthiest ten percent of the global population are responsible for around half of all emissions. At the same time, the poorest fifty percent contribute less than ten percent - while bearing the brunt of the damage. The rich fly, consume, burn, expand - and externalize the consequences to the rest of the world. They live in insulated zones while millions die from the fallout of their lifestyles. This extreme inequality is not a flaw - it is a core feature of the system. Climate destruction is class warfare on a planetary scale. The current global order is based on ecological theft that is no longer sustainable. Defending wealth without accountability means defending a world that is actively collapsing.
CLIMATE DAMAGES WILL SOON EXCEED
$1 TRILLION PER YEAR.
The financial toll of climate breakdown is exploding. Already today, extreme weather—floods, droughts, fires, storms—causes hundreds of billions of dollars in damage every year. According to the World Bank, these costs could surpass $1 trillion annually by mid-century—an amount capable of destabilizing entire economies. At the same time, global funding for adaptation, protection, and recovery remains massively insufficient. Climate impacts are no longer limited to the Global South—insurance systems are breaking, and states are reaching fiscal limits. The myth that wealth offers protection from climate collapse is falling apart. No market, no industry, no financial system is prepared for what escalating climate failure will unleash. Talking about growth without securing planetary stability is building an empire on sand.
80% KNOW WHAT’S COMING –
AND DO NOTHING.
Surveys show that over 80 percent of the global population are aware that the climate crisis is real and dangerous. Yet global action remains devastatingly insufficient. In democracies, it barely impacts election results; in autocracies, it’s actively suppressed. The majority live in a state of conscious denial - paralyzed by anxiety, fatigue, or comfort. The data is available, the threat is visible, the solutions are known - and still, nothing changes. We have the knowledge, we have the tools, but we refuse to step into responsibility. This inaction is not caused by ignorance. It is the result of collective self-deception. Those who stay silent today will not be able to claim innocence tomorrow. Silence in the face of collapse is not neutrality. It is complicity. It is a moral failure disguised as caution. And it will be judged by history, if history still exists.
WITHOUT A TURNING POINT BY 2030 – SYSTEM COLLAPSE.
The science is clear: unless global emissions drop drastically by 2030 - at least 43 percent compared to 2019 - the 1.5-degree target will be permanently out of reach. After that, tipping points begin to cascade and push the climate into a new, unstable state. This is no longer about political will, but about physical limits. Every year we remain locked into the fossil economy closes more doors forever. The world is heading for a new era of planetary instability - and we are holding the course as if nothing has changed. There will be no smooth transition, no gradual adaptation, no soft landing. Those who fail to act now are actively accepting irreversible escalation. The clock is not just ticking. It is blaring. Every missed year makes future action harder, more expensive, and less effective. Delay is no longer passive - it is destructive.
CORPORATIONS ARE SABOTAGING THE FUTURE – AND WE STAY SILENT.
Multinational corporations, especially in the fossil fuel industry, invest billions every year in lobbying, disinformation, and political influence - to delay or derail real climate action. They fund pseudoscience, block regulations, manipulate public messaging, and infiltrate decision-making spaces. This sabotage is well documented, yet rarely punished. The forces destroying the future are not hiding. They sit on boards of directors, not in basements. Meanwhile, climate activists are criminalized, monitored, and defamed, while those most responsible walk free. This is an asymmetric war between short-term profit and long-term survival - and the public watches silently. Most people know these structures are hostile to the future, but say nothing. It is not just silence before the catastrophe. It is silence inside it. It is the silence of normalization, of surrender, of resignation. And it is the most dangerous sound in the world right now.
WE ARE HEADING TOWARD 2.6 DEGREES – WITH EYES WIDE OPEN.
Despite climate summits, net-zero pledges, and green speeches, we are realistically on track for around 2.6 degrees of global warming by the end of this century. This projection is not based on worst-case assumptions - it reflects current policies, ongoing investments, and political realities. 2.6 degrees doesn’t just mean stronger storms or warmer summers. It means systemic instability, collapsing ecosystems, disappearing habitable zones, and global chain reactions. There is no adaptation strategy for this scenario, no way to manage it in an orderly fashion. Yet we pretend we have time. The science is visible, the impacts are measurable, and the warnings are deafening - but we continue forward. Not because we don’t know - but because we don’t stop. This is not ignorance anymore. This is a deliberate loss of control.
40 BILLION TONS OF CO₂ PER YEAR – DEATH IN INSTALLMENTS.
Every year, humanity emits around 40 billion tons of CO₂ into the atmosphere - knowingly, continuously, and destructively. This is not a side effect. It is the engine of collapse. Each ton remains for decades, locking in damage for generations to come. And yet emissions are still rising - despite every IPCC report, heatwave, and summit. Governments speak of goals while approving pipelines and airports. These numbers are not hidden - they are published, verified, and ignored. This is not a delay in progress. It is a full-speed drive into breakdown. What we emit today, no one will ever undo.
CLIMATE NEUTRALITY BY 2050 IS A LIE – THE CLOCK RUNS OUT NOW.
The idea of climate neutrality by 2050 sounds responsible - but it’s a dangerous illusion. If we don’t change course drastically by 2030, those long-term goals become meaningless. Most net-zero plans rely on technologies that don’t exist, or offsets that don’t work. It’s not a roadmap- it’s a deflection. The belief that the future will fix what the present refuses to confront is a deadly gamble. This decade - not the next - is the decisive window. Every year lost now eliminates options later. The climate system doesn’t run on promises. It runs on emissions. And the countdown is not set for 2050. It ends much sooner.
FINAL WORDS
We have put the facts on the table. Every number, every limit, every consequence is known. There is no information problem left – only a decision problem. Those who remain silent now are not protecting peace, but protecting destruction. Those who downplay, delay, or distract are actively choosing escalation. It is no longer “too late.” It is exactly now. And we say it here, together, on record: Anyone who keeps doing nothing is helping to destroy the world.
